Community Involvement

Here are some of the ways my family and I support our community:

Julie's Dream

I lost my wife Julie to cancer. To honor Julie's faith and her commitment to service, my sons and I have created a nonprofit named Julie's Dream. This effort will work to transform the lives of disadvantaged youth through inspiring wilderness experiences. Julie was inspired to start this organization after we went to Mount Ranier together in 2008. She would be so proud to know that we are working to make her dream a reality by collaborating with two outstanding nonprofits: The Agape Youth and Family Center and Wilderness Works. And thanks to the support of so many who attended our first fundraising event in January 2018, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal of $250,000. As a result, our inaugural group of young people had their first outdoor experience in the summer of 2018.

Wilderness Works

More than 20 years, Wilderness Works has served homeless, at-risk and very vulnerable children by providing year-round enrichment, experiential education, character development and outdoor adventure.

The Agape Youth and Family Center

This organization provides support to more than 2,000 school-aged children from underserved families in an effort to end generational poverty. My family and I volunteer each month to help prepare and serve meals to families in need.

The Lovett School, Parent's Fundraising Committee, 2015-2016

I am currently involved in fundraising activities for Lovett's capital campaign.

Atlanta Wake Forest University Alumni Network

I am active in Wake Forest Alumni activities and sporting events.
